The collaboration between those who offer targeted training courses and companies is increasingly essential and it is precisely in this direction that the ITS courses.

What are ITS courses

ITS is the acronym of Higher Technical Institutes and i ITS courses they are post-diploma courses that offer technical and highly qualified training that allows you to quickly enter the world of work.

ITS courses are carried out in collaboration with companies, research centers and local authorities with the aim of developing new skills in technological areas that are considered priorities for businesses and for the economic development and competitiveness of our country.

The analysis of skills needs carried out together with companies led to the creation of 6 courses dedicated to specific technological areas with study paths designed to train highly specialized professionals in demand by the market.

THE 6 courses have been identified as follows:

  1. IT'S GREEN: Energy efficiency for those who care about the environment and dream of an eco-sustainable future
  2. IT'S MOTION: Sustainable mobility for those who believe in sustainability as the engine of the future
  3. IT'S TECH: New technologies for life for those who are passionate about science and innovation
  4. IT'S ITALY: New technologies for Made in Italy for those looking for a job that combines creativity, innovation and internationalization
  5. IT'S CULTURE: Innovative technologies for cultural heritage and activities - Tourism for those with a passion for art and travel
  6. IT'S IT: Information and communication technology for those looking for a job that combines tradition and innovation

Energy efficiency and sustainable mobility

Two of the 6 ITS technology areas are dedicated to issues that are particularly dear to our site:energy efficiency and the sustainable mobility.

The technological area of energy efficiency presents two different areas that give space to different professional figures.
The first area focuses on the supply and generation of energy by setting up a training project dedicated to the figure of "Higher Technician for Energy Supply and Plant Construction”.

This professional figure is active in the procurement of energy, in particular from renewable sources and in the various phases of construction of plants for the production and distribution of energy.

The activities thus range from the design of the systems, both with regard to the necessary technical and bureaucratic checks, and with regard to the actual installation, up to support in production projects and use of the various technologies.

Other duties of this professional figure concern the ability to carry out an energy assessment of civil systems in compliance with current regulations.

The second area, on the other hand, promotes high-efficiency and energy-saving processes and systems, setting up a training project dedicated to the figure of "Senior technician for the management and verification of energy systems" and "Senior technician for energy saving in sustainable construction".

In the first case, the course aims to train a professional figure who can be used in the analysis and management of systems for the production, transformation and distribution of energy, carrying out activities of:

  • Analysis and management of production systems
  • Application of appropriate procedures in cases of anomalies
  • Plant maintenance management
  • Instrumental check on efficiency and energy saving
  • Energy performance analysis of buildings
  • Control of the application of legislation

In the second case, the professional career will concern the analysis, design and construction of buildings by applying the methods and technologies of sustainable construction and will carry out actions concerning:

  • Management of activities related to energy saving and evaluation
  • Management of the integration of different technologies in the construction on site
  • The optimization of the construction process with criteria of efficiency, quality, safety, reduction of the environmental impact
  • Control of the application of legislation

The technological area of sustainable mobility instead it envisages 3 areas aimed at directing the students towards 3 corresponding professional figures.

The first area is that of Mobility of people and goods for which a training course for the profession of Higher Technician for the Mobility of People and Goods whose activities will be the management of the vehicle and the organization of travel in respect of the environment, safety, ergonomics, transport economy and international, national and local regulations.

The second area is that of Production and maintenance of means of transport and / or related infrastructures aimed at training the professional figure of Higher technician for the production and maintenance of means of transport and / or related infrastructures which will find use in the production, interchange and maintenance system of vehicles and related infrastructures.

Its activities will include: planning of the different stages of processing, organization of human and material resources by adopting measures for the better functioning of machines and plants, control of the application of sector regulations, control of technological innovations and assistance in their application in the phases of production and operation.

The third area is that of Infomobility and logistic infrastructure management with the corresponding professional figure of Higher Technician for Infomobility and Logistics Infrastructure which will work in the various cycles of intermodal transport, large infrastructural systems and connected IT applications.

Its activities will include the management of relations and relations with the actors who act in the supply chain of the logistics system in the entry / exit flows of vehicles, people, goods, the management of customs procedures and documentation accompanying goods and the management of provision of services in the various stages of the process in compliance with quality systems.

Strengths of ITS courses

Among the strengths of the ITS courses, we believe it is important that 50% of teachers come from entrepreneurial realities, allowing students to compare practical and concrete issues that they will then have to face at work.

Furthermore, 30% of the course is carried out through an internship in the company in order to establish an immediate and real link with the production world.

Also significant is the presence of a training tutor and a company tutor who support the students throughout the course.

The most important data, however, is that relating to statistics on the employment rate of graduates: over 80% of those who obtain an ITC Diploma find a job within 12 months of completion.

What certification is achieved with ITS courses

By successfully completing one of the ITS courses, by attending at least 80% of the total duration and after passing the final assessment of the skills acquired, the "Higher Technical Diploma"With the certification of the skills corresponding to 5th level of the European Qualifications Framework.

To facilitate circulation at national and European level, the qualification is accompanied by the EUROPASS diploma supplement.

Where it is possible to attend an ITS course

In Italy there are well 104 Higher Technical Institutes where it is possible to attend the new courses.
